Childrens Ride Auction Painting
June 2006
One of my paintings titled "Circles of Hope" was auctioned as part of a fund raiser called The Childrens Ride, an event
that benefits The Children’s Hospital. I worked with some celebrities and patients of the hospital on this painting. The
painting was a series of 12 circles, and each participant painted their own circle. Later, I took the painting to my studio
and added several layers of paint to complete it. Some of the celebrities were: Paul Yaffe (a custom motorcycle builder),
Edgar Martinez (Past Seattle Mariner), and Apolo Ono (Olympic gold medal skater). Also painting was Spike from KZOK, who
was MC for the event. It was a blast to attend the event. I was completely blown away when the painting sold for
$11,000! I’m so grateful for the generosity. All of the money donated that night goes to a fund to help treat children
that can’t afford healthcare.
